Texas Surface Mining & Reclamation Workshop
DATES AND LOCATION
October 6-7, 2008 - College Station, TX
Background:
This annual workshop sponsored by the Texas cooperative extension program and the agricultural experiment stations will feature talks focusing on lignite mining and reclamation in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Topics covered:
Issues addressed this year will be groundwater quality, section 404 permitting, acid seeps, soils, weed management and use of GIS.
Target Audience:
Coal industry, university researchers, and State reclamation staff for the State of Texas and Louisiana. Normal attendance from 80 to 100 participants.
