Benchmarking Workshop on Surface and Ground Water Database Development and Use

Background
The purpose of this workshop is to share and discuss information regarding the development and use of databases related to surface and ground water data and information. The workshop will consist of several presentations from both state and federal agency representatives regarding the nature and operation of their database programs. It will also provide an opportunity for attendees to discuss a plethora of issues related to database development and use.
Topics Covered
State developed internal databases or electronic permitting systems that provide for the collection, storage and manipulation of surface and ground water data and Risk Based Data Management System (RBDMS). Presentations on these topics will be followed by an extensive opportunity for interactive discussion. Several of these presentations will feature live web-based applications.
Target Audience
State and federal agency personnel who are involved with the permitting of coal and non-coal mining operations.
